CLOT has unveiled its latest project with Converse, dubbed the “Ice Cold” pack. Inspired by polar bears, the collaboration features two models, the Chuck 70 and Jack Purcell.
The Chuck 70 Hi features a tri-panel Sherpa execution patchworked together in a variety of off-white shades, with fur lining on the interior for ultimate coziness. Zipper closures on the heel ensure easy foot access, and Polar Bear paw prints are found on the outsole as a final tribute to the endangered animal.
The Converse Jack Purcell Low comes dressed in a cream suede, while Sherpa lining within the upper creates an incredibly comfortable feel, enhanced by a removed heel counter for a “slipper” like approach to the shoe. This pair also utilizes gum bottoms with a black paw print stamped at the toe.
Edison Chen and Kevin Poon’s CLOT label links up with Converse to inject some hiking-inspired details to the Fastbreak, a 1983 basketball sneaker. Adding metal eyelets and rope hiking laces, smooth leather and suede accent the thick textile uppers in two colorways which feature the Chevron Star logo and co-branded logos on the heels and sock liners. Each colorway calls to mind vintage trail wear: one earth-toned colorway uses tan, baby blue, and navy while the other opts for royal blue, red, and brown.
CLOT x Converse First String One Star – Black/Blanc de Blanc ($110)
Continuing with successful collaborations with elite boutiques and brands worldwide, the Converse First String line delivers another One Star model, this time with Edison Chen’s CLOT brand from China. Using simple black and white hairy suede, this colorway draws on the tranquility derived from meditation. Tai Chi symbols and sayings appear on the midsole, as black and white play off of each other on the upper. Furthering the theme, the box lid includes diagrams of Tai Chi movements, and the footbed includes black and white symbols.
Available tomorrow at noon EST in very limited quantities in-store only at our Jersey City location.
With the legendary Stan Smith shoe back on rotation, and following Consortium’s initial original colourway release pack, adidas has teamed up with five designers – all hailing from Asia – to give their unique update to the iconic silhouette.
Hong Kong’s CLOT is made up of childhood friends Kevin Poon and Edison Chen, whose brand encompasses music, fashion, design and PR services. Their streetwear designs have garnered them solid success, not to mention a number of collaborations with high-profile brands over the years.
For Stan Smith CLOT, Poon approached the shoe with the utmost respect by not straying too far from its clean and timeless silhouette. The black nubuck upper contrasts against metallic gold accents on the heel tab, tongue and ‘CLOT’ callout on the heel patch, giving it a sophisticated and eye-catching finish. Soft leather has been used to line the shoe, while the footbed features grip material in a repeated CLOT motif, preventing slippage for the wearer.
The adidas Consortium x CLOT Stan Smith is the first of the Consortium Stan Smith Collaboration Pack shoes to be released this coming Saturday, February 15th at 12pm noon EST – both in-store and online @ PackerShoes.com.
