Originally released in 1997 as part of Nike’s ACG (All Conditions Gear) footwear product range, Nike’s Sportswear division brings us a contemporary take on the 90’s classic in the form of this Zoom Talaria 2014 edition.
The silhouette, which was the first to showcase Nike’s bottom-loaded full Zoom unit, hasn’t changed that much, aside from a more rugged, outdoor inspired aesthetic courtesy of its autumn/winter drop date. The upper blends mesh, synthetic suede overlays, hardened panel trims for supportive rigidity, a simplistic ghillie style lacing system and a contrast orange heel counter, holding the Talaria sign off.
The Hyper Turquoise embroidered Swoosh works in cohesion with the heel pull tab, speckled lace detail and cuff lining to punctuate the dark upper, balancing out the vibrancy of the midsole underfoot. The sole unit retains its signature Zoom cushioned genetics, this time though, the outsole features a deep grooved tread and grippy, trail ready lugs, making the Talaria 2014 both comfortable and durable for a seasonally applicable finish.
The Nike Zoom Talaria 2014 in anthracite/hyper turquoise is now available in-store at Packer Shoes.
Lions, tigers, and Blazers – oh my? Venturing deep into the wild for inspiration, the Nike Sportswear design team emerges with three new looks in the forthcoming Blazer Safari Collection.
Each pair, assembled with a vulcanized sole, draws elements from the safari to create a distinctive, themed aesthetic. The first pair represents a preying feline, blending a full grain black leather upper with a leopard print, pony-hair Swoosh, heel tab, and tongue. The second, inspired by the slithering predator, features a mahogany, nubuck upper and snake-inspired accents on the Swoosh and heel. The third pair ties the collection together, illustrating the entangled environment of the jungle itself. Covered in a camouflage underlay, it features green TPU overlays, meant to resemble swinging vines that mask the jungle’s fiercest creatures.
The Nike Sportswear Blazer Mid “Safari” Collection releases Saturday – October 11th – in-store and via email/iMessage order at Packer Shoes.
Like Nike Flyknit, Nike Flywire, and Nike Air technologies, the Nike Huarache platform was born in performance running and swiftly applied to other sport categories. Designed under the lens of reduction, the Huarache platform was one of Nike’s earliest attempts to give athletes exactly what they need to perform and nothing more. Twenty-three years after the debut of the Air Huarache, Nike Sportswear reintroduces shoes that combine the functionality of South American sandals and the fit of neoprene waterski boots—the Air Huarache Trainer.
Having successfully created a basketball rendition of the Huarache, Hatfield and Avar set out to create a cross-training shoe as well. The upper utilized a similar exoskeleton-innersleeve combination—with one addition. Recognizing the need for superior lockdown during resistance training and aerobic activities, a mesh strap was added, giving birth to boundary-smashing performance footwear.
The minimalist design of the Huarache dramatically reduced weight and inspired a new generation of Nike footwear designers to create footwear stripped to only the necessary components for elite performance.
The Nike Air Trainer Huarache Premium OG launches this Saturday – September 27th – in-store and via email/iMessage order at Packer Shoes.
Dressing for success doesn’t require wearing business attire. Some of the world’s most prominent figures have made a name for themselves by lacing up a pair of cleats. Others have done so in sneakers. Introducing the Suits & Ties Pack, featuring two reimagined Air Max Lunar90s.
Both iconic silhouettes have been dressed in a Hyperjade and burgundy jacquard upper. Styled in two unique patterns–paisley and herringbone–each design is crafted to make its own distinct statement.
The paisley design projects a youthful vibe. Applying a busier print, Challenge Red accents pop on the eyelets and midsole for a standout look. Conversely, the herringbone print tones your outfit down by blending subtle colors with black and burgundy accents. Both pairs integrate Nike Air and Lunarlon cushioning in one sole to deliver two levels of innovative comfort.
