The 2017 baseball season may be over, but in the city that never sleeps, the passion for the teams that call it home shines bright all year round. For the athletes that play in NYC, the camera flashes and hovering spotlight never let up. Our latest collection with Starter gives a nod to that idea with two coaches jackets — one for the New York Mets and one for the New York Yankees — featuring team logos in reflective silver 3M.

Limited quantities available 12 noon EST today, November 9th, in-store and online @ PackerShoes.com in size S-4XL ($80 each).

Please note that these jackets run big and it’s recommended to go one size down.

We are proud to define the next chapter of the ongoing adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange in mutual cooperation with European retailer, Solebox.

In the spirit of the Sneaker Exchange campaign, we were inspired by the idea of geography and what it meant for two shops from two continents to come together to create a common vision.

For our concept, we looked to the Earth’s tectonic plates — specifically the place where the North American and Eurasian plates meet. Within a national park in Iceland, the Silfra Rift not only joins the two continents together, but is also a world renowned scuba diving sight known for its clear waters and the unique ability to swim in between the huge rock walls of the continental plates.

The Packer x Solebox x adidas Consortium “Silfra Rift” pack features the adidas UltraBoost Mid and the adidas Energy Boost and will be exclusively dropping at both partner stores on Nov. 4th.

Stay tuned for further info leading up to the release…

While signature models have remained a constant in the basketball world, we’ve seen less attention paid to the notion of “player exclusives” in recent years.

With a new season right around the corner, adidas looks to reinvigorate the PE formula by not only outfitting rising NBA star, Kristaps Porzingis, with his very own NY Knicks-colored edition of the Crazy Explosive, but also creating a super-limited run to be made available to the public. Aside from the personalized heel strip, the shoe also features a royal/black Primeknit upper with orange accents and a black midsole encapsulating the Boost cushioning.

Limited to only 100 pairs, the Kristaps Porzingis Crazy Explosive PE ($150) will be available exclusively at a special release event at our Jersey City location (382 Marin Blvd) this Thursday, October 12th @ 6pm.

KP, himself, will be in attendance to meet fans and sign autographs, plus more surprises to come. Customers can begin lining up at 1pm. Event starts at 6pm. Inquire at store for full release details.

Iconic Italian sportswear brand, Ellesse, may be best known for their pioneering influence on tennis and skiing fashion, but back in the ’80s and early ‘90s, the brand’s luxe footwear designs and clean logo-centric apparel were coveted items in US cities and beyond — particularly in areas of NYC, where the brand’s high price tags and premium output were a status symbol statement in the street.

While Ellesse has been a European staple for all these years since, the brand now turns its attention back to the States with the return of their classic Venezia silhouette, re-named Vinitziana for its 2017 revival. Executed true to its original form in a timeless blend of suede and mesh, the shoe resurrects the luxurious tennis style of the era in a way that only an Ellesse shoe can.

Joining the Vinitziana ($115) are two Ellesse logo tees ($40 each) as well as a white 6-panel tennis cap ($36).

The full collection will be available in limited quantities 12noon EST this Friday, October 13th, exclusively in-store and online at Packer.

This time last year, we teamed up with London’s own Footpatrol to celebrate the clashing of cultures as the New York Football Giants crossed the pond to face the LA Rams on British soil. Everyone had such a blast that the NFL decided to schedule some more games in London this season, and with it, another round of limited edition bringbacks from the Starter vault.

As the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints gear up to meet on the Wembley pitch, we’ll be releasing a limited run of classic satin jackets, complete with the Union Jack flag and co-branded inner patch.

($150 each) – Available 9am EST Saturday, September 30th, online at PackerShoes.com.

And if you’ll be in London for the game, check out Footpatrol for their in-store release and gameday get-together.

“When we initially introduced the “Dirty Buck” concept as part of the Gel-Lyte III anniversary celebration, it was something which was so out of the box design-wise, yet at the same time so fitting for us to represent our roots and the legacy of our original store. When it comes to style — heritage, history and timelessness are more than just adjectives, they’re the building blocks of what fashion is, has been and will be. Does style change and evolve? Of course, but its core values do not.”

“There were so many other great colorways and ideas that we had left on the creative cutting room floor when working on the “Dirty Buck” that we always felt there was more to be done with the concept. With our 110th year anniversary approaching, we thought that telling this story with a partner like J.Crew was not only outside the realm of what traditional retail is used to, but also a natural fit in terms of celebrating the idea of timeless menswear cornerstones.”

It’s difficult for a brand to completely claim ownership of a certain colorway or a combination of materials, but when it comes to the iconic “white/gum” pairing, Reebok could make a pretty solid case for themselves. That look was found all throughout the brand’s golden age arsenal, showcased perhaps most emphatically by the legendary Workout model.

With Reebok celebrating fitness heritage in 2017, we set out to create something that really reflected the DNA of the shoe and the brand, and it’s hard to talk about either without white/gum coming into the conversation. Our concept was to scramble that DNA to take the classic look and completely flip it so that everything that was white on the original becomes gum and everything that was gum becomes white.

Simple enough, but in order to execute that idea to its fullest, we used actual gum rubber for the upper so it not only had the look, but the texture as well. The tongue and side window stick to the traditional nylon construction to maintain the OG feel along with the same plush terrycloth that has been lining Workouts since the ‘80s.

Limited quantities of the Packer x Reebok Workout Lo Plus “Reverse Gum” ($120) will be available @ 12 noon EST this Friday, September 8th, in-store at both locations and online at PackerShoes.com.

Please note that the OG white/gum version pictured will not be available for purchase.

A huge thank you to Action Bronson, Starter, VICE, the Gansevoort Market and everyone who came out to support the launch of our “BCU” Collection, where a certified mob scene descended on W 14th Street all day long in celebration of Action’s new album, book and apparel capsule.

In addition to delicious chicken parm sandwiches and face time with the man of the hour —  which included autographs, pics and the occasional wrestling hold — those in attendance were also treated to an impromptu Blue Chips 7000 crowd sing-along that quickly turned into an impromptu Blue Chips 7000 performance as Bam Bam commandeered the mic and began rapping through the line, eventually spilling out onto the street where a crowd of hundreds swarmed around him to catch a glimpse.

Truly the people’s champ, Mr. Wonderful lived up to his name, staying past the scheduled stop time to make sure every last person on the line got some 1 on 1 attention — a classy gesture that did not go unnoticed by us or the fans who waited all day to see him. Salute to Action for being a pleasure from start to finish and to all who helped bring BCU to life.
