Nike More Uptempo 96 ‘Hoyas’ – Cool Grey/White/Midnight Navy ($160)
1996 marked the year the Nike More Uptempo released, and it was also a memorable year in Georgetown Hoyas basketball, as it marked the last year that Allen Iverson handled point guard duties, averaging 25 points per game. This Hoyas-themed colorway sports a cool gray leather upper with navy suede on the “AIR” letters and navy hits on the heel pull, tongue pull, and laces.
Cooler weather means the arrival of wheat colorways here in the Northeast, so we present two new flax iterations of Nike staples: a Nike Air Force 1 High ’07 LV8 WB and a Nike Air More Uptempo ’96 PRM. For this AF1 which was last seen in 2015 with the exact same style code, flax nubuck covers the upper that sits atop a gum sole for a monochrome look. The Air More Uptempo ’96 has a bit of contrast, as the “AIR” branding hits the nubuck flax upper with a slightly lighter gum outline on the letters to match the light gum midsole and heel Swoosh.
