Footpatrol x Converse First String One Star – Vanilla Custard ($110)

London’s Footpatrol, a premier destination for sneakers since 2002, collaborates with Converse First String on a “Jewels of Soho” One Star and coach’s jacket. Named for the shop nestled into the Soho neighborhood in LDN, this tan suede One Star is full of details like a jeweled midfoot star, laces that say “The Devil is in the Details,” Footpatrol stitching on the heel, and subtle branding on the tongue, footbeds, and outsole. A coach’s jacket ($120) accompanies the shoe in the same tan hue with subtle grosgrain heel tape at the collar and tonal stitching throughout with a large gas mask logo on the back incorporating both brands’ logos.

Converse First String, after recent collaborations with both UNDFTD and Neighborhood, offers three colors of the Chuck ’70 with Carhartt WIP. Each pair has triple-stiching workwear details on the eye roll, heel counter, and forefoot, along with vintage metal eyelets and red bar foxing on the midsole. Rugged duck canvas makes up the brown and natural models, while ripstop appears on the tiger camo option.

All 3 styles will be available (in VERY limited quantities) tonight at midnight EST online at PackerShoes.com

The First String collections from Converse have been a hit, as proven by a recent successful Neighborhood collaboration. This go-around, UNDFTD gets a crack at two versions of the One Star ’74. Each version blankets the upper in hairy suede with premium leather lining and features UNDFTD branding on the tongue and heel. An olive version sets the upper against a white midsole with red and blue stripes, and the white model does the same.

Japan’s NEIGHBORHOOD, headed by designer Shinsuke Takizawa, often implements biker and military references into their offerings, and the high top All Star 70 and a One Star 74 low both arrive with their famous eye for details. For the All Star 70, a rubber and leather toe overlay is meant to increase durability when riding and is paired with a black canvas upper with leather hits. The One Star 74 has foxing tape with NEIGHBORHOOD’s motto to “Craft with Pride” and a premium suede upper with leather lining.

Both styles are available tonight at midnight EST online at PackerShoes.com.
