Three more adidas models arrive as part of their 7-sneaker Dragon Ball Z collection: the Deerupt Runner, the Kamanda 01, and the Ultra Tech. The purple Deerupt Runner honors Son Dohan with reflective gold flashes under the purple mesh netting set over a gum sole. The Kamanda 01 in coral represents Majin Buu with perforated Three Stripes meant to celebrate Majin’s ability to shoot steam out of the holes in his body. A smoky black sole finishes it off with a lime green logo on the heel tab. Finally, the Ultra Tech evokes Vegeta’s colors of royal and gold, with quilted material to evoke his body armor. His catchphrase “OVER 9000” is stitched into the heels to give the model a personalized touch.
adidas Originals reconstructs classic silhouettes in the ‘Never Made’ Pack. Encompassing a variety of sneakers from the brand’s past, the shoes are enhanced with updated technology, blending futuristic soles with mismatched uppers.
The pack includes the 98 X Crazy BYW – a hybrid model for greater flexibility in the foot, ZX 930 X EQT – noted as, “the classic-meets-contemporary Boost EQT midsole”, Country x Kamanda that dons a suede upper with a textured gum sole, and the Micropacer x R2 – an influential design with an NMD Boost sole.
In a World Cup year, adidas Consortium and Boston’s Bodega tackle collaborative renditions of the Kamanda and Sobakov based on the style of the terraces and the performance of the pitch. Boasting a tonal black ballistic nylon upper, olive knit tongue, and khaki tab on the heel, the Kamanda also has a dark semi-translucent outsole with Bodega branding in bright orange to match the liner. A ribbed suede upper appears on the tan Sobakov with a re-imagined reflective Three Stripes and orange liner, tongue tag, and laces. A semi-translucent gum outsole reveals the Bodega logo beneath.
