To celebrate the release of our upcoming adidas Consortium EQT 91/18, we’ve partnered with renowned mountain bike specialists, Ritchey, to create custom co-branded Timberwolf bikes to be given away to two lucky winners.

The Timberwolf is an all-mountain trail bike, originally introduced in 1984 to meet the growing need for a rugged bike that could handle anything put in front of it. This custom “91/18” edition is fully equipped and loaded from front to back and features a two-tone gradient paint job adorned by Packer and adidas branding elements.

Picking up where our worldwide exclusive EQT 91 left off, we proudly celebrate part two of the Packer x adidas Consortium “EQT Adventure” collection with the EQT 91/18.

While the first shoe paid homage to the colors and materials of the classic outdoor-focused EQT Adventure line, the Boost™ + Primeknit equipped EQT 91/18 model takes those foundational cues and evolves the concept into something geared for today and beyond.

Using the EQT 91/18’s blend of classic Equipment design and contemporary perspectives as its canvas, the shoe features a combination of materials that give nods to both eras. A wool-blend Primeknit vamp sits alongside a hairy suede quarter for a juxtaposition that creates the perfect bridge between the nostalgic look and feel of 1991 and the modern production possibilities of 2018.

A molded heel and 3-stripe TPU cage add support to the upper, finished with a premium leather lining and rope laces. At its base, a black Boost™ midsole is accented by essential overrun 3-stripe marks branding and a durable rubber outsole.

When the adidas Equipment line first launched in 1991, its goal was to be “Everything that’s essential. Nothing that’s not,” and that included a very minimal approach to color. The initial EQT line-up is best remembered for its running silhouettes and their instantly recognizable white/green color scheme — a look that went against the grain by shifting the focus strictly to performance rather than relying on the bright color applications that dominated footwear trends at the time.

But the EQT line meant much more than running, as it covered the gamut of footwear categories and athletic needs. One of the true high-points of the early EQT output was the “Adventure Equipment” line, featuring a full range of rugged outdoor footwear options that not only demonstrated the versatility of the brand’s new direction, but also introduced a wider spectrum of colors and materials.

The Packer x adidas EQT ’91 celebrates the classic EQT Adventure palettes by taking color cues from archive models to create an homage to this seminal era of adidas footwear. The shoe features a combination of premium suedes and leather complemented by heavy duty mesh and technical synthetics.

Limited to only 250 pairs and available exclusively at Packer, the shoe will release in-store 12 noon Friday, September 21st, at the Packer Teaneck grand re-opening for a retail price of $155. An online release will follow on Saturday, September 22nd, at 12 noon EST at packershoes.com.

It’s difficult for a brand to completely claim ownership of a certain colorway or a combination of materials, but when it comes to the iconic “white/gum” pairing, Reebok could make a pretty solid case for themselves. That look was found all throughout the brand’s golden age arsenal, showcased perhaps most emphatically by the legendary Workout model.

With Reebok celebrating fitness heritage in 2017, we set out to create something that really reflected the DNA of the shoe and the brand, and it’s hard to talk about either without white/gum coming into the conversation. Our concept was to scramble that DNA to take the classic look and completely flip it so that everything that was white on the original becomes gum and everything that was gum becomes white.

Simple enough, but in order to execute that idea to its fullest, we used actual gum rubber for the upper so it not only had the look, but the texture as well. The tongue and side window stick to the traditional nylon construction to maintain the OG feel along with the same plush terrycloth that has been lining Workouts since the ‘80s.

A huge thank you to Action Bronson, Starter, VICE, the Gansevoort Market and everyone who came out to support the launch of our “BCU” Collection, where a certified mob scene descended on W 14th Street all day long in celebration of Action’s new album, book and apparel capsule.

In addition to delicious chicken parm sandwiches and face time with the man of the hour —  which included autographs, pics and the occasional wrestling hold — those in attendance were also treated to an impromptu Blue Chips 7000 crowd sing-along that quickly turned into an impromptu Blue Chips 7000 performance as Bam Bam commandeered the mic and began rapping through the line, eventually spilling out onto the street where a crowd of hundreds swarmed around him to catch a glimpse.

Truly the people’s champ, Mr. Wonderful lived up to his name, staying past the scheduled stop time to make sure every last person on the line got some 1 on 1 attention — a classy gesture that did not go unnoticed by us or the fans who waited all day to see him. Salute to Action for being a pleasure from start to finish and to all who helped bring BCU to life.
